Stapelia paniculata v. scitula 6” Hanging Basket
Stapelia paniculata v. scitula 6” Hanging Basket
Small plant, wonderfully strange personality! Stapelia paniculata subsp. scitula, sometimes called the Small Starfish Flower, is a fascinating succulent that forms clusters of slender, bright green stems. Its spreading growth habit looks especially charming as the stems begin to trail over the sides of its hanging basket.
When mature and happy, this unusual plant produces small, star-shaped flowers with intricate burgundy, cream, and reddish markings. The blooms have the wonderfully weird appearance that Stapelia collectors love, but their scent is generally much less noticeable than that of larger carrion-flower varieties.
This easygoing succulent is perfect for a bright window, covered patio, succulent collection, or anyone who enjoys plants that are a little different.
