Calla Lily
Calla Lily
Zantedeschia (Calla Lily)
A refined and sculptural plant, Zantedeschia—commonly known as the Calla Lily—adds a clean, elegant presence to any home or display. Its smooth, trumpet-shaped blooms rise above sturdy, glossy green foliage, creating a timeless look that works well in modern interiors, event décor, and statement arrangements.
Appearance
Calla Lilies are known for their graceful, flared flowers that come in shades of white, yellow, pink, orange, and deep purple depending on the cultivar. The leaves are arrow-shaped and often lightly speckled, adding texture even when the plant isn’t in bloom.
Care Requirements
• Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. They can tolerate some morning sun but avoid harsh midday rays.
• Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Allow the top inch to dry between waterings. They prefer consistent moisture during their active growth period.
• Humidity: Average indoor humidity is sufficient.
• Temperature: Prefers a stable environment between 60–75°F.
• Dormancy: Calla Lilies typically go dormant after blooming. When leaves begin to yellow, reduce watering and allow the plant to rest in a cool, dry place until new growth begins.
Pet Safety
Not pet-safe. Calla Lilies contain calcium oxalates that can be toxic if ingested by cats or dogs. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
